All-in-one for beginners

EasyCast Studio vs Alitu

Alitu and EasyCast are both beginner-focused all-in-one podcast tools that record and host in one product. Alitu is a single flat plan — $38/mo, or $32/mo billed annually, with a 7-day trial; hosting free up to 1,000 monthly downloads, then $10 for up to 10,000. EasyCast adds a free tier and a Starter entry plan at $9.99/mo with tiered capacity. Here is the honest difference, with every Alitu fact sourced.

TL;DR — which one fits you

Pick EasyCast Studio

You want a free tier or a lower-priced paid plan, capacity you can scale from the Free plan’s 30 minutes up to unlimited, and recording + cleanup + transcription + Podcast 2.0 hosting bundled in one browser workflow.

Pick Alitu

You want one flat price with no tiers to compare, hosting bundled in (free up to 1,000 monthly downloads), and a simpler beginner-first all-in-one workflow is worth more to you than a free tier or a capacity ladder.

You already record and edit elsewhere and only need a host — a dedicated host (or a free host) is a better fit than either all-in-one studio.

Feature comparison

Each row is intentionally honest — we’ve marked our own gaps as partial or no, not glossed over them. Cross-check with the latest on alitu.com before deciding.

Where each one wins

Alitu’s cost-stack argument — and the same case for EasyCast

Alitu’s pricing page makes an all-in-one argument: it frames a stack of separate podcast tools at roughly $132 a month and compares that with its own single subscription (alitu.com/pricing, reviewed 2026-10-03). It is a fair framing, and EasyCast makes the same one. Where the two differ is the price ladder. Alitu is one flat plan: $38/mo, or $32/mo billed annually, and it includes hosting free up to 1,000 monthly downloads, then $10 for up to 10,000. EasyCast runs from a free tier to Starter at $9.99/mo (30 min/mo, 1 GB), Pro at $29/mo (500 min/mo, 50 GB), and Business at $99/mo (unlimited min/mo, 500 GB) — all from our published plans. If your show is small, EasyCast’s entry point is lower; if you want one flat price and no tier decisions, Alitu is simpler. We have not verified what recording capacity Alitu’s plan includes, so we compare the published price, plan shape and hosting allowance here — not recording capacity.

Where Alitu is likely the better fit

Alitu is aimed squarely at beginners who want a single simple subscription, and its plan includes hosting — free up to 1,000 monthly downloads, with $10 for up to 10,000. If a flat $38/mo with no tiers to weigh up matches how you want to buy software, and you do not need a free tier or a capacity ceiling you can dial up and down, Alitu is the cleaner answer. We are not going to pretend a tiered ladder is simpler than one flat price — for some buyers, one price is exactly the point.

Where EasyCast is different

EasyCast is audio-first and Podcast 2.0-native: browser recording, live transcription while you record, reversible audio cleanup, AI show notes and clip suggestions, and a feed that carries chapter and transcript tags, with a public listener page and an embeddable player for each show. It also starts free and scales in tiers. Both products are trying to collapse a tool stack into one subscription; EasyCast’s bet is that the publishing layer belongs inside the studio, rather than a separate host bolted on afterwards.

What we could and could not verify about Alitu

We reviewed Alitu’s public pricing page and website on 2026-10-03. Confirmed: it is an all-in-one podcast tool aimed at beginners, it includes audio upload, noise reduction, levelling, loudness and EQ processing, silence and filler-word cleanup, transcription, hosting and a public podcast website, and it is priced at a single flat $38/mo ($32/mo billed annually) with a 7-day trial and hosting free up to 1,000 monthly downloads ($10 for up to 10,000). Everything else in the Alitu column above is marked “Not verified” rather than “no” — that means we did not confirm it on Alitu’s public pages in this review, not that Alitu lacks it. Check alitu.com for the current feature list before deciding.

Pricing snapshot

EasyCast prices and limits come from our published plans (/pricing). Alitu is a single flat plan: $38/mo, or $32/mo billed annually, with a 7-day trial; hosting is included free up to 1,000 monthly downloads, then $10 for up to 10,000 (alitu.com/pricing, reviewed 2026-10-03). Alitu does not publish a tier ladder, so the row-by-row tiers only apply to EasyCast. Verify both before you buy.

How to move a show from Alitu to EasyCast

Moving a show between hosts is mostly about the feed and the back catalogue. We are not claiming an automated Alitu importer, and EasyCast cannot preserve an existing episode GUID or redirect your old feed URL for you, so the steps below are a best-effort move using features we actually ship (audio upload, public show pages, Podcast 2.0 RSS).

  1. 01

    Export your back-catalogue audio

Download your published episodes from your current host. Alitu hosts your show, so your episodes live there — check Alitu’s own help pages for its export controls, which we did not verify in this review.

  2. 02

Create the show and upload your audio to EasyCast

Create a new show in EasyCast and upload your back catalogue. EasyCast accepts MP3, WAV, M4A, WebM, OGG, and FLAC uploads, and gives each show a public listener page and a Podcast 2.0 RSS feed. Uploading recreates each episode on our side, so it gets a new episode GUID — see the GUID step below for what that costs.

  3. 03

    Recreate your show metadata

Re-enter your title, description, artwork, category, and author on the new feed. Add chapters and transcripts where you have them so the Podcast 2.0 tags carry over.

  4. 04

Preserve episode GUIDs and set up a redirect

Apple’s guidance for changing hosting providers is to keep each episode’s GUID the same and to redirect the old feed URL to the new one with a 301. A GUID is how apps recognise audio they have already delivered; change it and apps can treat the whole back catalogue as brand-new episodes (re-downloading them and losing played state). EasyCast derives each episode’s GUID from its own record, so re-uploading produces new GUIDs, and we cannot add a redirect to Alitu’s feed for you. If continuity matters, keep a copy of the old feed and use a host that supports a redirect, or migrate with someone who can preserve GUIDs.

  5. 05

Point Apple Podcasts and Spotify at the new feed

In Apple Podcasts Connect, open the show and use “Edit” beside the RSS URL to enter the new feed (Apple documents this as changing hosting provider; there is no “Move feed” tool). In Spotify for Creators, point the show at the new URL. Apple also recommends a host-level 301 redirect so that every app and directory following the old URL follows the move, not just the two you can log into. Directory changes take time to propagate.

  6. 06

Keep the old feed live — the hand-off is incomplete

Do not cancel Alitu the day you move. Updating Apple and Spotify alone does not migrate every subscriber: any player or directory still polling the old feed URL only moves if that URL redirects to the new one. Keep the old feed published as long as you can, and understand that retiring it with no redirect can strand listeners who still hold the old URL.

Frequently asked

Is Alitu a good alternative to EasyCast?
Yes, for the right buyer. Alitu is a beginner-focused all-in-one that includes hosting, priced as a single flat plan at $38/mo ($32/mo billed annually) with a 7-day trial and hosting free up to 1,000 monthly downloads (alitu.com/pricing, reviewed 2026-10-03). If one flat price and a simple workflow matter more than a free tier and tiered capacity, Alitu is a reasonable pick. EasyCast is the better fit if you want to start free, record and clean up in the browser, and publish a Podcast 2.0 feed with chapter and transcript tags.
How much does Alitu cost?
Alitu is a single flat plan: $38/mo, or $32/mo if billed annually, with a 7-day free trial, per alitu.com/pricing as reviewed 2026-10-03. Hosting is included free up to 1,000 monthly downloads, with an additional $10 for up to 10,000; we did not verify other capacity limits, so we do not quote storage or recording limits here.
How much does EasyCast cost?
Free is $0 with 30 audio minutes and 1 GB a month. Starter is $9.99/mo with 30 audio minutes and 1 GB a month and a 14-day trial. Pro is $29/mo with 500 audio minutes and 50 GB. Business is $99/mo with unlimited minutes and 500 GB. These come from our published plans in src/lib/plans.ts.
Does EasyCast have a free plan?
Yes — the Free plan includes 30 audio minutes and 1 GB of storage a month at no cost. We could not confirm a free tier on Alitu’s public pages in our 2026-10-03 review, so the table marks that cell “Not verified” rather than assuming either way.
Can I migrate my show from Alitu to EasyCast?
Yes, but not automatically and not invisibly. Export your back-catalogue audio, recreate the show in EasyCast, upload the episodes (MP3, WAV, M4A, WebM, OGG, FLAC), and update Apple Podcasts and Spotify with the new feed. Two limits decide how clean the move is: re-uploading recreates each episode on our side, so every episode gets a new GUID — EasyCast derives it from its own episode record, which no external host can control — and apps can then treat the back catalogue as brand-new; and a complete move requires a permanent 301 redirect from the old host’s feed URL to the new one, which EasyCast cannot add to Alitu’s feed for you. Without that redirect, players and directories still polling the old URL do not follow the move. We are not claiming an automated Alitu importer.
Which is better for a beginner?
Both products target beginners. The honest difference is the buying model, not a winner: Alitu is one flat plan with no tiers to compare; EasyCast has a free tier and a Starter entry plan at $9.99/mo and scales up to unlimited minutes. Pick the pricing shape you would rather live with, then check alitu.com for the features you need that we have not verified here.

Start free, then $9.99/mo.

Try EasyCast Studio with the free tier or the 14-day Starter trial. Record in the browser, clean up the audio, and publish a Podcast 2.0 feed, then decide whether EasyCast’s pricing fits better than Alitu’s flat plan.
