Connect the microphone
The recorder opens its setup wizard on Connect Your Microphone. Pick the input your computer recognizes: a USB microphone, an XLR microphone through its interface, or a mixer.
Solo podcast workflow
A solo podcast is an episode you record alone, with no guest to wait on. EasyCast captures it in the browser: the setup wizard connects your microphone and runs a Mic Health Check, Voice only starts an audio-only take, and the saved recording can be transcribed and enhanced before you export its primary file and upload it as an episode to publish.

Solo capture
Voice only, audio
Short answer
Open the EasyCast recorder and let the setup wizard connect your microphone. The Mic Health Check shows the levels and browser settings your mic reports, and Choose Capture Mode’s Voice only option starts an audio-only recording. Save the take when you stop, transcribe it in English in the recording editor, then export its primary file (choose Apply as primary first if you enhanced the audio) and upload it as a new episode in your show. Publishing works on that episode, so turn on the public page and RSS feed and publish it when the details are ready.
The solo recording flow
A solo show only needs one microphone and one take. These are the pieces EasyCast gives you before and after that take.
The recorder opens its setup wizard on Connect Your Microphone. Pick the input your computer recognizes: a USB microphone, an XLR microphone through its interface, or a mixer.
The Mic Health Check step shows Peak and Voice levels plus the actual browser settings your microphone reports, so a silent or clipping input shows up before you record.
In Choose Capture Mode, Voice only starts an audio-only recording of a single microphone. There is no second participant to set up for a solo episode.
Recorded audio can be enhanced in the workspace. AI silence removal and filler-word removal sit above the baseline feature set, while basic audio enhancement is part of the baseline available on every plan. Enhancement saves as a separate file; choose Apply as primary to make the enhanced audio the recording’s file.
EasyCast transcribes the recording and requests English only (the transcription request sets the language to English).
Export the recording’s primary file, upload it as a new episode in the show, publish it, then turn on Enable public podcast page and Make RSS feed public in the podcast’s site settings and hand the RSS feed URL to the directories you want.
Step by step
The recording is the middle of the job. Set the show up, record and save the take, transcribe and enhance it in the recording editor, then export its primary file, upload it as a new episode, and publish.
| Step | Job | EasyCast fit |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Create the podcast | Add a show. The episode you publish later lives in this show, with a public page and an RSS feed. |
| 2 | Open the browser recorder | Start the recorder and begin the setup wizard. No desktop app is required to record. |
| 3 | Connect and check the microphone | In Connect Your Microphone choose your input, then finish the Mic Health Check to see Peak and Voice levels and the browser settings your microphone reports. |
| 4 | Record the solo take | In Choose Capture Mode pick Voice only to start an audio-only recording, speak, and stop when the take is done. |
| 5 | Save the recording | Stop and save. EasyCast shows Recording saved and stores the take with your recordings; open it in the recording editor to transcribe it in English. Audio enhancement (Magic Audio) is optional and saves its result as a separate file. |
| 6 | Export the recording’s primary file | In the recording editor, use Download or Export to save the recording’s primary file to your device. Export sends that primary file as-is, with no format conversion. If you enhanced the audio with Magic Audio, choose Apply as primary first so the enhanced audio becomes the recording’s file — otherwise the export is still the unenhanced original. |
| 7 | Create the episode by uploading the file | In the show, choose New Episode and upload that audio file (MP3, WAV, M4A, or AAC) with the episode title and description. The uploader accepts those formats up to 50 MB, so convert a WebM export to one of them and keep the file within that size first. Uploading the file is what creates the episode — the saved recording and the episode are separate items. |
| 8 | Publish the episode | Publish the episode. To give it a public page and feed, turn on Enable public podcast page and Make RSS feed public in the show’s site settings, then hand the RSS feed URL to the directories you want. |
Decision guide
Use the Voice only capture mode
Voice only starts an audio-only recording of one microphone, which is all a solo episode needs.
Upload the file instead
The recorder accepts uploads too: MP3, WAV, M4A, MP4, WebM, OGG, and FLAC.
Export the file, then upload it as an episode
A browser recording is saved to your recordings; publishing works on a separate episode, which you create by uploading the exported audio file to the show.
Enable the public page and RSS feed
The public page and the public RSS feed are separate toggles in the podcast’s site settings, and the feed is what podcast apps read.
Use the free episode tools
The title generator, episode outline generator, and hook writer help you plan a solo episode before you record it.

Open the browser recorder and connect your microphone in the setup wizard. Complete the Mic Health Check, then choose Voice only in Choose Capture Mode to start an audio-only recording. Stop when the take is done and save it to your recordings.
A browser recording is saved to your recordings, and publishing works on a separate episode. Open the recording in the recording editor and use Download or Export to save its primary file — if you enhanced the audio with Magic Audio, choose Apply as primary first so the enhanced file is what exports. Then in your show choose New Episode and upload that file (MP3, WAV, M4A, or AAC); the uploader accepts those formats up to 50 MB, so convert a WebM export before uploading. Publishing that episode is what puts it on the public page and feed.
