A public RSS feed
Turn on the public RSS feed for the show. Apple Podcasts and Spotify both read the feed from a public URL, so the feed must not stay private.
Podcast distribution
Submitting a podcast to Apple Podcasts and Spotify means giving each platform the same public RSS feed URL. Apple Podcasts Connect and Spotify for Creators both read that feed for show details and episodes. EasyCast hosts the feed and links you to each directory’s own submission flow; the submission itself happens in Apple’s and Spotify’s tools.

One public RSS feed
Short answer
Prepare the show metadata, make the RSS feed public, and publish at least one episode. Then add the feed URL in Apple Podcasts Connect and in Spotify for Creators. Both platforms read the same feed, so later episodes come from that URL without resubmitting.
Before you submit
Both directories read the same public RSS feed, so the work is in preparing that feed once and keeping it public.

EasyCast writes the show title, description, language, category, explicit flag, and owner email into the feed as RSS 2.0 and iTunes tags. Artwork uses the show’s cover image when one is set (for example, from an RSS import) and falls back to EasyCast artwork otherwise.
Apple’s feed requirements call for at least one episode, and each episode needs an enclosure with a URL, length, and type.
Every episode in the feed carries a GUID that never changes, so a platform does not treat an existing episode as a new one.
Apple submits through Apple Podcasts Connect and Spotify through Spotify for Creators. EasyCast links you to both from the podcast’s Submit to directories page.
Both platforms keep the feed URL you submitted and read it again for later episodes, so you submit the show once per directory.
Step by step
The same public feed serves both directories. Prepare it, submit its URL once in each tool, and leave it in place for future episodes.
| Step | Job | EasyCast fit |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Prepare the show details | Set the title, description, category, language, owner email, and explicit flag on the show. EasyCast writes these fields into the feed. |
| 2 | Make the RSS feed public | Turn on “Make RSS feed public” so podcast apps and feed validators can read the show. The feed URL returns nothing while this is off. |
| 3 | Publish at least one episode | Publish an episode with audio. Apple’s feed requirements ask for at least one episode, and each item needs its own enclosure. |
| 4 | Copy the feed URL | Open the podcast’s Submit to directories page and copy the RSS feed URL it shows. |
| 5 | Submit to Apple Podcasts Connect | In Apple Podcasts Connect, click Add (+) and select New Show, then choose “Add a show with an RSS feed”, enter the feed URL, and click Add. Review the show details, then Save and Publish. |
| 6 | Submit to Spotify for Creators | At creators.spotify.com, select your avatar and add a new show, then choose Find an existing show. Claim the show if it is already on Spotify, or submit it with the same feed URL if it is not. |
Decision guide
Add the feed in each directory once
Each directory stores the feed URL one time and re-reads it, so you do not submit again for every new episode.
Claim it instead of adding a new one
Apple lets you claim an existing show into your Apple Podcasts Connect account, and Spotify for Creators lets you claim a show that is already on Spotify.
Keep the feed URL and GUIDs stable
Directories follow the feed URL you gave them, and Apple’s feed requirements say each episode’s GUID must never change.
Validate the feed before you submit
A feed validator catches missing tags, enclosures, or artwork before a directory reads the feed.
